Frequently Asked Questions
The Product
How is Dozy Dust different from a regular protein powder?
Most protein powders are designed for daytime use — high protein loads and stimulating amino profiles that work against sleep if taken at night. Dozy Dust is formulated specifically for the overnight window. It uses a moderate 10g of plant protein to support muscle repair without taxing digestion, plus 1.5g of L-Glycine, a calming amino acid clinically studied for improving sleep quality. Most powders ignore this window entirely.
Is 10g of protein enough to actually make a difference?
For overnight recovery, yes. The goal isn't to maximize protein synthesis the way a post-workout shake might — it's to make sure your body has amino acids available during the hours it's actively repairing tissue. A lighter protein load also means less digestive activity while you sleep, which matters for sleep quality. Think of it as purposeful, not just more.
What is L-Glycine and why does it help sleep?
L-Glycine is a naturally occurring amino acid that plays a role in calming the nervous system and regulating core body temperature — both of which are linked to sleep onset and quality. Clinical studies have found that glycine taken before bed can improve subjective sleep quality, shorten the time it takes to fall asleep, and reduce next-day fatigue. At 1.5g per serving, Dozy Dust delivers a meaningful dose without going overboard.
How is this different from casein protein?
Casein is dairy-based and slow-digesting, which is why it's often recommended before bed. But dairy doesn't work for everyone — it can cause bloating, discomfort, and disrupted sleep for people who are sensitive to it. Dozy Dust uses pea and brown rice protein, which together form a complete amino acid profile, are easier on digestion, and are fully vegan. Plus, casein doesn't include L-Glycine.
What flavors are available?
Dozy Dust Rebuild currently comes in Chocolate and Vanilla. Both are designed to mix easily with water or plant milk without being overly sweet.
Is Dozy Dust vegan and dairy-free?
Yes — fully vegan and dairy-free. It's designed to be as clean as possible so your body isn't working overtime while it's trying to rest.
Using It
When should I take it?
30–60 minutes before bed is the sweet spot. This gives your body time to begin digesting and absorbing the protein and glycine before you fall asleep, so both are available during the overnight recovery window.
Can I mix it with milk instead of water?
Absolutely. Water works fine, but plant milks like oat, almond, or cashew milk taste great with both flavors.
Do I need to work out to benefit from this?
No. Anyone who wants to support overnight muscle maintenance and improve sleep quality can benefit — not just people who hit the gym. That said, if you do train, the overnight window is especially valuable since your muscles are still in recovery mode hours after a workout.
Can I take it every night?
Yes — it's designed for daily use. There's nothing in Dozy Dust that builds tolerance or creates dependency, unlike many sleep aids. Consistent nightly use is actually where you'll see the most benefit.
