Why Dozy Dust

Why we built this

The frustration wasn't complicated. Mainstream fitness culture has spent years treating pre-bed calories like the enemy — something to avoid, a shortcut to weight gain, a sign of weak discipline.

But walk into any Division I athletic program and you'll find the opposite. College nutritionists have quietly recommended a small protein source before bed for decades — a glass of milk, a peanut butter sandwich, something small to fuel the overnight window. The reasoning is straightforward: your body is repairing muscle while you sleep and amino acids need to be available for that to happen effectively.

The research backs it. The practitioners know it. And yet the supplement industry built an entire product category around morning shakes and post-workout windows, leaving the most important recovery hours completely unaddressed.

Dozy Dust took about a year to get right — multiple formulation rounds, a lot of back-and-forth with our manufacturer, and a lot of nights testing it ourselves. The glycine effect on sleep quality was noticeable quickly. And waking up less sore after hard training sessions was enough to keep us coming back.

This isn't a sleep aid. It's not a weight gainer. It's just purposeful nutrition for the hours your body actually does the work.
